Planète Tours Voyages offers a wide choice of hunting areas from north to southern east Senegal, depending on whether you would like to hunt waterfowl or some mammals in the company of native guides.

Hunting methods and species:

    - Hunting « in front of you »: this method allows you to hunt guinea fowls, hares, …; you will do it in the company of guides that will help get the game back to you.

    - Hunting “on the way”: turtledoves, pigeons around the water points, or along the waterways; from the evening until sunset.

    - Hunting “at the approach”: by this method only the warthog can be hunted, you can follow it by its tracks with your guide.

You may have the chance to meet cephalophus, ourebis, harnessed guibs and even buffalos that you can only shoot according to imposed quotas.

The good period being in the morning, guides will advise you.

Hunting season:

From January 1^st to April 30^th (dates to be confirmed by the Senegalese authorities)

Hunting equipment:

Rather a 12mm calibre gun, but there is no problem if you have a 16 or 20mm calibre, a supple holster in order to protect it during transport by car.

For the warthog, any calibre from 7mm (rifle with a lens, if possible with a variable enlargement lens)

You will be able to bring 2 boxes of munitions, as well as some brenneks for your 12mm calibre (20 units).

WARNING: The State of Senegal forbids all importation of automatic arms and hunting cartridges.

To obtain a Senegalese hunting license and an authorization for importing weapons into Senegal, please contact us 60 days before you leave.

Nevertheless, do not forget to take with you all documents about yourself and your weapons.
